Relax, We've Got You!
The Process of Creating Your Website
We take the time to learn about you and your business.
It is important for us to understand what it is that you are wanting to accomplish. There really is no “One Size Fits All” Website. Many web designers out here will sell you a template or cookie-cutter quick and easy solution to promise you and sometimes deliver on a very low-cost website for your business. We like to look at the real purpose of your company’s needs.
One of the biggest mistakes businesses make is having the WRONG website.
A bad or dysfunctional website can be a detriment to your business and actually hurt your reputation. Most don’t even realize they were just scammed and didn’t receive the real value that a Great website will bring.
It’s important how your website looks but what’s more important is how it works!
I like to use this comparison: Think of your website as “Transportation”
Now, basic transportation could be a pair of shoes. it will help you get from one place to another. But, just because it is technically transportation, is that really what you have in mind? NO!
You were expecting a full-sized pick-up truck with a crew cab, and enough power under the hood to tow your boat, camper, or work trailer.
So, let’s first understand what you expect your website to accomplish.
Pricing is based on the value, features, and options you chose. Pricing is not just a number, it is a trade of dollars for value.
When we talk, we will ask you about your business goals, what issues you’ve had along the way, and address any previous problems you may have had with your website or web marketing. Many times, we can help improve some efficiencies with your business by creating an application on your website to handle some aspects like Quote Request forms, Employment Applications, Appointment Scheduling, and more.
We truly believe that your website is an extension of your business and it should not only convey your quality branding but also be a useful auxiliary tool to build from.
For us, Building Your Website Requires Craftsmanship
Craftsmanship is developed over decades of experience
Do you really want a web designer that is in a rush to knock out your project as fast as possible because they aren’t charging enough to do it right? No, of course not. You want a website that will deliver on what you need. You want a website to look great, function flawlessly and propel your business in many ways. We pride ourselves in taking our time and thinking through the process of delivering based on your expectations. First, we have to understand what you want to accomplish. Then we use our 30+ years of experience in business development, web technologies and artistic creativity to custom build your perfect website. That doesn’t mean it will take a long time. We have very efficient skills for delivering on the required time frame.
“In most cases, we can go from start to finish in 30 days.”
We Monitor Your Website 24/7 for Issues & Take Action
After your website is live and launched, we are always available to help with any new needs that may arise. We consider ourselves part of your marketing team. As a matter of fact, we are monitoring our client’s website 24/7 and take action whenever necessary to thwart bad actors on the web that are continually trying to hack your website and hijack the site with malicious code. UnifiWeb installs advanced Antivirus protection which not only keeps your site safe but also improves SEO by removing issues as they come up and keeping your site updated. As much talk as there is about AI and automatic processes, we still have to manually take action and think through sometimes complex issues. It’s all part of our job.
We pride ourselves in being a Resource that benefits your business
We not only want your business to thrive with new leads and high praise for your website’s visual appeal and ease in navigation but we intend to keep you for a long time with our never-ending support for the technological part of good website management and maintenance.
It’s why our slogan is: “Relax, We Got You!”
Website Development
What is Website Development?
Website Development is the process of creating a web-based representation of your business, services, products, or skills for public viewing. A Website is a place where you highlight your offering, and convey your quality with easy-to-read, easy-to-navigate, mobile-friendly (responsive) text and images. A great website will include your professionally designed logo, easy to find your contact information, and show a Call to Action on the 1st splash of your site load.
A great website developer will work with you to either get what you have or create any missing pieces to insure you portray a complete website that answers the questions most prospects will have.
Key Principals of Website Design
- The design must follow KISS (Keep It Simple Silly) We want it to be easy to find the most common information like, phone number, contact us, location, and product or service offering.
- Consistency: We create a design and follow that throughout. Titles, fonts, color schemes, patterns. It just makes for a better experience for the user and your customer, employee, or prospect.
- Colors: There is a lot of value in selecting the right colors based on the target market consumer. You will notice that Tech and Medical companies stay with blues while nature companies lead with greens. We help you find the best color selection to enhance your target audience experience and keep it consistent throughout the website.
- Responsive is sometimes referred to as Mobile Friendly. It is a technology that all our work utilizes to insure your website looks great on any size device. No modern website should lack this function. It is critical now.
- Typography: This is another feature that many overlook. You want o choose fonts that are easy to read. In some areas, fonts need to change size depending on the screen size being used to view the page. We always try not to mix more than a couple of fonts on a site and be consistent.
- Fast Loading: A fast website will have more views and higher retention. We use special software called Caching which delivers a pre-loaded visual of the web pages instead of waiting for the server to retrieve the hundreds of files and render them for each user. This both positively impacts the user experience and also saves server resources.
- Easy Navigation: We try to always have the menu visible on the top of all pages so that it is easy for users to get around your website. If you have to scroll to the top every time to get around, people will just leave and never come back. We also build-in web page hierarchy to help with breadcrumb navigation on a larger more complex websites.
- Well Written content. Be sure to use easy-to-understand wording and not overly complicated long paragraphs. We like to use the drill-down technique. Start with a simple title and short paragraph and if there is a lot more information, have a “Read more… click”, where the interested reader can dive deep into the subject. Most people won’t want to be overwhelmed by too much technical information.(This expandable section is a good example of this)
Website Form, Fit, Function
Making sure your website is correct for your business or organization is important. We see from time to time websites for a medical practice following design features that look like a Craig’s List ad. It just doesn’t work. It’s best if meets consumer expectations. If you don’t, you create unnecessary doubt in their minds. The whole point of having a Great Website is to cancel doubt, convey safety, and emphasize credibility. People buy from companies they trust. If you showcase a lack of trust you will not get the phone call.
Website Development Time Frames
If you have a large website and need it done quickly, we will suggest a phased approach. We can design your website to get the basics done first like a nice welcoming home page, About Us page, Contact Us page, and a page that covers the basic information about your products and services. Then, when other pages are finished, they are added after they are really ready. Websites are modular for the most part and we can build them over time. Some websites are always under construction
In most cases, we plan a time frame based on what you need and we schedule calls with you along the way to keep things on track. Our average turnaround on websites is 30 days and some take longer and some less time. A lot of that depends on how ready you are with your content and information. If we send you a review request and it takes you a week to reply, that just added a week to the time frame.
SEO Websites
What is Website SEO
SEO Stands for: Search Engine Optomization
It is the practice of using your keywords and geographic area of business to trigger search engines to show you to consumers searching for your product or service. The goal is to achieve a good ranking. The higher you are to the top the more likely you are to receive clicks from prospects that may be very likely buyers.
SEO Formula For Success
Yes, we have a formula for success, and while we consider this our intellectual property which we keep to ourselves exactly how we do it, it’s also slightly different for every business in every different market. I can say that how you rank has as much to do with your website as it has to do with your competitors in your space. A new business may open up and push your listing down. it has to be watched, monitored, and worked on constantly to maintain a consistently great ranking. If SEO ranking for Organic search is important to you, we help you achieve your goals.
On Site SEO
These are SEO practices that are built into your website like using keywords, image tags, page naming, SEO Software, and best SEO practices.
Off Site SEO
Typically this is using inbound link-sharing services or referral websites to generate traffic to your website for both people and search engine crawlers. We also like to use techniques for using SM Marketing to generate Off-Site SEO benefits and improved SEO ranking.
Content Development
What is Considered Content for a Website?
Content development is when we create new written information to convey your message for your website or, any photography we supply either by conducting a photo shoot or buying stock images to enhance the appearance of your website. Professional photography always goes a long way in improving your website vision. Stock photography is a great and inexpensive alternative. We can assist with both and in some cases, a mix of both may be used. UnifiWeb™ is part of the Pinwilz™ family and we may involve our Pinwilz Media to develop on-site photography or video content to be used to create your website.
Image licensing Rules?
Photo Shoots Bring It Home
Authenticity That’s the word that best describes what a photo shoot provides for your website. When we develop images that are from your location, show your staff working, or show your logoed trucks or other items, it is unmistakable that your business and your brand are established. We offer quick photo shoots for 30 mins for under $300.00 in most cases. It is well worth the investment.
Can I get a Video For My Business?
Yes – Speak with your rep at UnifiWeb about the video and we can talk about what you have in mind. We can create videos for your website as well as for your social media.
